Yurts and Lodging

Lodging Options at Enchanted Forest - New rental yurts If you've always wanted to stay in a back country yurt, but didn't fancy carrying your gear 4 miles uphill through 6 feet of powder, and thought, "Wouldn't it be great if Enchanted Forest had rental yurts on their trails?" this is the year you have been waiting for!

Enchanted Forest is adding several rental yurts over the next 3 years. Phase one, the first yurt, is near the Linda's Leg trailhead on Little John, about 1 mile from the base area on an easier to more difficult route. The yurt is semi primitive, but comfortable with a wood stove for heat, dining table, kitchen area with supplies, and bunks. We call it "Glamping". There is also an outhouse, a full stock of firewood, and a great view of Wheeler Peak nearby. Use of the yurt also gives you access to Enchanted Forest's trails at night! Just remember, you are on your own, and be careful.

This is still camping and WINTER CAMPING, not a hotel room. There is no room or maid service. Heat is provided by a wood stove, wood provided. It will still get cold overnight, but not as cold as a tent only. You must provide your own sleeping bag (at least 20º or colder rating recommended in winter and summer), pillow, food, and transport (ski or snowshoe winter, feet or Mt. bike summer) to yurt (although snowmobile gear delivery is available for $30, Winter Only).

Drinking water in winter is from melting snow, or you can bring bottled water available at any store for $1 to get you started. In summer you must carry in all your water. We also provide a gear pulk in winter for helping transport your stuff to the yurt. Kitchen items, pans, plates, silverware etc. and a stove and lantern are provided in the yurt.

Sorry, no pets are allowed at the yurt, even service animals, due to heath, forest biology, and safety reasons.
