Directions

Although remote, Enchanted Forest is an easy day trip from Taos and Santa Fe, and a bit longer from Albuquerque. Enchanted Forest is located just 3 miles East of downtown Red River NM on NM Hwy 38, and Red River offers over 20 lodges, many restaurants and a large array of entertainment. Come and make a weekend of it, or even stay and play for longer to see all that northern New Mexico has to offer.

From Taos: North 22 miles on NM522 to Questa. Turn East on NM38 13 miles to Red River, head east on NM38 toward Eagle Nest. After 3 miles you will see a very large, brown sign that says, "Enchanted Forest". Turn right 200 feet past sign, just past the mile post 16 sign, onto dirt road (snowy road in winter). Go down the small hill and then up the larger hill. Follow signs up hill to parking lot (4WD/AWD Recommended). Additional parking on highway lot with an easy 200 yard walk to ski area.  Click thumbnail image of map to the left for larger image!

Also, coming from Taos, it is faster to go through Questa than Eagle Nest (20 min).
